A forest plunged into darkness, dozens of zombies and only 3 lives to reach the end.

What awaits you

Every time they catch you, you lose a life. You must reach the end of the route with at least one life left. The fastest groups of the night compete for the best time and win a prize.

Think you can outrun a zombie?

A forest plunged into darkness. Dozens of bloodthirsty zombies. And you… with only 3 lives to survive!

Trilho da Pólvora Negra is an experience where sport, adrenaline and terror meet in a race for survival!

The mission is simple: reach the end of the route with at least one life left! But beware… the zombies are everywhere, hidden in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to attack! Every time you are caught, you lose a life. Run, dodge, flee and do everything in your power to survive!

And there's more… The fastest groups of the night enter the competition for the best time and win a prize! Will your group be able to take first place?

It's not just a race. It's a fight for survival!

Zombie Blaster

The former workers of the Fábrica da Pólvora have returned from the dead. The Fábrica is in quarantine and your only chance is to escape.

What awaits you

You get a Gel Blaster and 3 lives. Run, protect your team and complete the objectives, with dozens of zombies between you and the exit. Part of the escape is by van, while hordes of zombies try to catch you. And not everyone you meet is a zombie.

They died more than 100 years ago. Now… they are hungry.

For decades, the old Fábrica da Pólvora kept its dead.

Workers who lost their lives among explosions, accidents and corridors coated in gunpowder were forgotten by time.

But something woke them up.

And they have returned with a ravenous hunger for fresh flesh.

The Fábrica is in quarantine.
Communications are down.
The access routes are compromised.

And what began with a few disappearances has turned into a true ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

Your only chance is to escape.

But reaching the evacuation point alive won't be easy.

  • You will receive a Gel Blaster.
  • You will have only 3 lives.
  • And dozens of dead between you and the exit.

Run. Hide. Protect your team. Complete the objectives.

And shoot at almost anything that moves…

Almost.

Because here, every second counts. Every decision has consequences. And every life lost brings you closer to the end.

And just when you think you've seen it all…

THE REAL MADNESS BEGINS.

Part of your escape will be made aboard a van, in a frantic race through the Fábrica while hordes of zombies appear along the way and try to surround, attack and reach the vehicle.

No doors. No windows. Nowhere to hide.

Just you, your team and the Gel Blasters.

The van moves on.
The zombies close in.
The distance shrinks.

AIM. SHOOT. SURVIVE.

But there is something you need to know before you go in…

NOT EVERYONE YOU MEET IS A ZOMBIE.

There are other survivors in the Fábrica.

Some may help you.

Others may want what you have.

And others…

Maybe it's better if you find out inside.

Because, in the middle of an apocalypse, you will quickly realise that the dead may not be your worst enemies.

Long ago, devastating explosions rocked the old Fábrica da Pólvora in Barcarena, claiming dozens of lives in an instant of smoke, fire and despair. The bodies were destroyed.

The souls... were left trapped.

In Espíritos Estilhaçados, you enter an immersive horror passage where the factory corridors, abandoned and corroded by time, are now home to torn-apart spirits — fragments of pain, rage and fear, repeated for eternity.

These ghosts are unlike anything you have ever seen:

  • Shattered workers, with broken faces, twisted limbs and unrecognisable bodies.
  • Disjointed whispers that surround you, each word a memory lost in the moment of the explosion.
  • Laments and screams echoing through the galleries, vibrating in the bones of those who dare to enter.

As you make your way through the old factory:

  • Twisted shadows cross your path.
  • Sudden bursts of light and sound make you relive the last seconds of the tragedy.
  • Currents of freezing air carry the smell of smoke, blood and gunpowder.

There are places the living should never enter...

Deep within the old Fábrica da Pólvora, there is a maze of tunnels where the past has never died.

For decades, those corridors have been the stage for inexplicable events. The spirits of the former workers remain trapped, accompanied by demonic entities and tormented souls that have lost every trace of humanity.

Now, the tunnels have opened again.

Participants will have to make their way through a gloomy route full of creatures, apparitions and unexpected dangers. But walking is not enough: they will have to hide, crawl, flee and find a way to survive.

Immersive Sensory Experience

Blindfolded, you make your way through the Fábrica da Pólvora with no idea who — or what — is with you. The spirits will try everything to convince you to take it off.

What awaits you

Before you go in, a blindfold is placed over your eyes and your sight ceases to exist. You may feel an icy hand, breath far too close to your neck, footsteps that match yours and voices that end up whispering in your ear. The spirits of the Fábrica are looking for a body and will try to make you believe you can peek. There is only one rule: never take the blindfold off.

SYNOPSIS

Sussurros da PólvoraImmersive Sensory Experience

When you can't see… everything you feel seems worse.

There are dead people in the Fábrica da Pólvora who haven't yet realised they have died.
Others realised perfectly well.
And those are the most dangerous.

Trapped for decades between this world and the next, they wander the Fábrica with no face, no body and no way back.

Until you turn up.

Because there is one thing they want even more than resting in peace:

TO HAVE A BODY AGAIN.

And, let's face it…
you brought a perfectly usable one.

Before you enter Sussurros da Pólvora, a blindfold will be placed over your eyes.

From that moment on, your sight ceases to exist.

And there is only one rule you absolutely must follow:

NEVER. TAKE. OFF. THE. BLINDFOLD.

It's not to make the experience scarier.
It's for your protection.

You will move forward without knowing who — or what — is with you.

You may feel an icy hand running across your skin.
Breath far too close to your neck.
Fingers appearing where there should be no fingers.
A strong smell that appears from nowhere.
Footsteps that seem to match yours exactly.
Voices that start far away… and end up whispering right in your ear.

Maybe someone will grab you.
Maybe something will follow you.
Maybe you will feel a presence pressed against you for far too long.

Don't worry.
It's probably just trying you on for size.

Because the spirits of the Fábrica are looking for something they lost a long time ago: a body they can possess.

And you have just walked blindfolded into their territory.
How very kind of you.

Along the way, they will try everything.

They may call your name.
They may ask for help.
They may whisper for you to take the blindfold off.
They may make you believe someone needs you.
They may even tell you the experience is over and it's safe to peek.

Don't believe them.

The blindfold isn't only there to stop you seeing them.
It's there to stop them finding their way to you.

So, whatever happens…
don't take it off.
Not even a little.
Not even for a second.
Not even just to check what you are absolutely sure you just felt in front of you.

Because all it takes is one little peek.
And maybe something will notice you.

Maybe it will choose you.
Maybe it will finally find the body it has been searching for over decades.

And when you reach the end and the blindfold is taken off…
you may no longer be alone.

Maybe you will feel a presence behind you on the way home.
Maybe you will hear a whisper when you're alone in your bedroom.
Maybe your reflection will take a second to copy your movements.

In that case, we have good news and bad news.

The bad news?
You took something from the Fábrica with you.

The good kind?
It has finally found a body.

As for yours…
Well.
Let's hope it's still yours.

Surrender your sight. Trust your senses.And never take off the blindfold.

Because at the Fábrica da Pólvora, the dead don't just want to scare you. They want to leave with you.

Born from a passion for escape rooms, NoEscape opened Cascais's first escape room in October 2024. Since then, it has created its own stories, sets and puzzles, taking players from adventure and investigation to horror and suspense.

With a special passion for challenges that put logic and creativity to the test, it brings the flash escape room «Cemitério» to our festival.

About NoEscape

NoEscape was born from a passion for escape rooms and a simple question: why didn't Cascais have one yet? After dozens of experiences all over the country, we decided to go from players to creators, and on 30 October 2024 we opened Cascais's first escape room.

Since then, we have been creating our own stories, sets and puzzles, with rooms ranging from adventure and investigation to horror and suspense. We have a special passion for challenging puzzles, and it shows in our rooms, where we offer a wide variety of challenges, many of them highly complex. We like to test the logic, creativity and problem-solving skills of everyone who visits us.

We are a team passionate about what we do, who like to think outside the box, overcome challenges and surprise people. Our ambition is to keep growing, innovating and creating ever more memorable experiences.

Some like horror. Some write about horror. And some turn it into stories, images and entire universes.

On 30 and 31 October, some of those universes will leave the page… and come to life inside the Fábrica da Pólvora.

Fábrica do Terror joins the Festival de Terror to bring a strong Portuguese horror presence with it.

Created in 2021, Fábrica do Terror is dedicated to promoting and creating the genre in Portugal, giving a stage to writers, directors, illustrators, musicians, actors and many other Portuguese creators.

Literature. Cinema. Theatre. Illustration. Comics. Music. Video games.

If it's Portuguese horror, there's room for it.

And this time you won't just meet it through a screen or the pages of a book.

You'll live it inside the Festival.

Horror tales, live and in colour

Forget a simple reading session.

Throughout the night, some of the most sinister corners of the Fábrica da Pólvora will become a stage for horror tales narrated live, in settings created to transport you into each story.

Come in. Sit down. Listen.

Darkness all around you.
A story in front of you.
And somewhere close by… perhaps something that shouldn't be there.

Because some stories frighten you when you read them. And others should never be told in the dark.

Impromix

What if we mixed horror, comedy and improv? Impromix enter the horror universe with no memorised script: every scene is born right there, in the moment, and is never repeated.

What awaits you

Macabre stories, unlikely characters and absurd situations, all thrown in by the audience. The ideas of those watching steer the scenes, and the actors deal with them without a script. A break to laugh at horror, though nobody can promise that a creature won't turn up in the meantime.

SYNOPSIS

Os ImpromixHorror Improv Comedy

What if we mixed horror, comedy and improv, with nobody knowing exactly what happens next?

That is what Impromix will bring to Fábrica Assombrada – Festival de Terror.

Impromix are a professional improv theatre group, founded in Lisbon in 2022, known for creating shows with no memorised script, where everything happens in the moment. Audience suggestions become completely unexpected characters, stories and situations, making every performance unique and unrepeatable.

At the Festival, improv takes on a darker side. Impromix will enter the horror universe to create moments of stand-up and improv where fear and humour meet. Macabre stories, unlikely characters, absurd situations and challenges thrown in by the audience can turn, in seconds, into a scene that has never happened before — and will probably never happen again.

And get ready, because here the audience is part of the show too. Interaction is one of the group's trademarks: the ideas of those watching help decide the course of the scenes and set the actors challenges they will have to solve on the spot, with no script and no idea where the story will end.

Amid so many scares and intense experiences, this will be a chance to stop, watch and laugh at horror — though we can't promise that a creature won't turn up in the meantime.

At Fábrica Assombrada, even fear can make you want to laugh.

And with Impromix, nobody knows what happens next. Not even them.
